The Light of the World

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life (John 8:12).

To be a true light in today’s world, you will have to be Christ-like in everything you do.  Many people in the world today say that they are Christians, but are they really?  When you are a blood-washed, born-again child of God, you are cleansed from your sins and made brand new in Christ Jesus.  From that day forward, you are to live like Christ—holy and pure without spot, wrinkle or blemish.  If your actions are not Christ-like, then it doesn’t matter how many times you proclaim to be a Christian; God will not accept you as His own.  We cannot act like the world or be like the world in any way, shape or form.  God cannot use a person in any great way if they have one foot in the world.  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God (Romans 12:2).

God wants to use the youth to help bring in the harvest in this final hour, but Christian youth will have to be different from the youth of the world.  David is a great example of a young person who was different from the other kids his age.  When the Israelites were at war with the Philistines, David’s father sent him on a mission to deliver some food to his three older brothers who were commissioned to fight in God’s army.  I’m sure when David woke up that morning, got dressed and put on his sandals, he wasn’t thinking that he would fight a giant later that day; he just thought he was going to run a simple errand for his father.  But God had a hand in sending David on this errand because God was going to use this young boy to show that He can bring victory through any vessel that is yielded to Him 100 percent.  When you are obedient to God’s Word, then the Lord’s hand will be upon you to bring victory in your life.  David had great faith and trust in God, and this gave him holy boldness to stand up against the giant Goliath.

Friend, if you will put your complete trust in the Lord, He will give you holy boldness to stand up against the evil of this world.  He will light your paths and keep you from the darkness of this world.  If you would like to make Jesus the Light of your life, click here to say the sinners’ prayer.

May God’s hand be upon your life as you help us take the Gospel to the world.
